The atmosphere has been electric in the Conte city, east of Carcassonne for several days.
Shots rang out during the night of Wednesday October 16 to Thursday October 17 in a building on rue Diderot. When the BAC (Anti-Crime Brigade) police officers arrived, there was no one left and no injuries. However, investigators learned that a young person had been beaten while trying to escape and then hospitalized.
Information will lead the police to an apartment and a possible weapons cache with several Kalashnikovs.
Thursday October 7, at midday, the RAID was called to the site for a major police operation and searches but no weapon was found. Hearing shots, students from the nearby middle school were confined for a few minutes.
The tenant of the apartment where weapons were supposed to be stored was arrested as well as another individual present on site at the time of the intervention. The severely beaten young man (a Monteplliéran) was in turn to be placed in police custody.
Drugs and a large sum of money were seized. This affair would be linked to a turf war for control of a deal point.
The atmosphere remains tense in the neighborhood where there are fears of revenge with drug dealers from Montpellier.
