Martinique: the State agrees to lower the price of food by 20%
To cope with the fed up with the high cost of living which continues to increase in Martinique, and which has given rise to an unprecedented social movement since September, the State announced Wednesday evening that it had signed an agreement, in particular with distributors , to decrease “20% on average” food prices on the island. This agreement, reached at the end of a seventh round of negotiations, was however not signed by the collective Rally for the Protection of Afro-Caribbean Peoples and Resources (RPPRAC), at the origin of the mobilization since September 1. The group slammed the door and called for “continue the movement”. If the collective did not sign the agreement, it is because it wanted the reduction in prices agreed by the State and the various local actors to concern “all food”, and not just around fifty product families.

Budget 2025: an extended version of the tax on high incomes adopted in committee
Last night, MPs approved an extended version of the contribution on high incomes provided for in the government’s draft budget: they voted to increase the «flat tax» on capital income, and the taxation of «superdividendes». The Finance Committee first adopted the contribution of the wealthiest intended to help rebalance public finances. All votes in committee will, however, have to be repeated in the hemicycle, where the deputies will start from the initial version of the bill. The measure, expected to bring in 2 billion euros in 2025, amounts to establishing a minimum tax rate of 20%. It must be established for three years, but the deputies removed any time limit in committee, via amendments from the left but also from the MoDem group, a member of the government coalition.
Thirteen departments in the southern half on orange vigilance

Two Sanofi unions call for a renewable strike starting today
