Harmless against Racing, lost 22 to 6

Unlike last Sunday in Clermont, the Toulonnais have nothing to regret about their defeat recorded this Saturday at Charléty against Racing (22-6).

This time, Pierre Mignoni’s men were transparent. Six little points. Not a single testing opportunity. Chronic indiscipline during the second act allowed the Ile-de- residents to score 22 points while the score was 0-0 at the break.

A deficient conquest, with four touches lost during the first act before it was the scrum which took on water in the last half hour. In short, not much positive to remember, apart perhaps from the unconditional support of the “red and black” supporters, who are clearly noisier than their “sky and white” competitors.

A match which will therefore not be remembered, as the RCT remained locked in a minimalist game consisting of occupying the opponent’s ground at the foot and scrapping in defense.

Except that too many faults were committed by the defenders, allowing Le Garrec to score five penalties after the break, and to concede a try from a penalty a few minutes before the final whistle.
