Anderlecht was very uncertain about its new coach. Management has made a decision.
We were still talking to you about it a few minutes ago: the doubts of the Anderlecht management regarding Ryan Mason led to the holding of a Board of Directors upon his exit. The decision didn’t take long to come: David Hubert was confirmed as head coach.
“In recent weeks we have seen positive signs and we have been able to establish a new dynamic within the first team. This is why we want to give David the opportunity to continue his work,” explains Jesper Fredberg in the press release.
Anderlecht couldn’t afford to wait any longer
The sporting director continues: “David is a young coach who knew how to seize his chance. This corresponds to our philosophy of wanting to work with talented and modern coaches. He has our full confidence and we are looking forward to a season where there is still a lot to do, both in the league, in the cup and in the Europa League.
For his part, David Hubert declared: “I am very proud of this mark of confidence from the club and above all very happy that we can continue the positive momentum of recent weeks. I am only focused on one thing: I want to see progress every day, week to week and month to month. This has always been my approach and the conviction is there that together we are capable of great things.”
The new head coach is therefore rewarded for his remarkable interim leadership of the team. His calm and the level of play displayed tipped the scales.
