After the return of Marcel Hirscher, another big comeback could be on the horizon in the world of skiing. According to the “Blick”, Lindsey Vonn would like to return to competition, provided that her test as an opener during the World Cup events in Beaver Creek is successful. This information would have been confirmed by sources within the American team.

The “Blick” also refers to a statement by former Swiss-Ski coach Sepp Brunner: “I was able to observe Lindsey Vonn training on the Rettenbach glacier with a lot of ambition, working on her gliding turns. .”

The American, aged 39, ended her career in 2019 due to persistent knee pain. Last April, she underwent an operation to have a prosthesis fitted.

Last Tuesday, Vonn posted a video on Instagram showing herself in the middle of a workout. “I love those times alone at the gym, the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, the sweat, the overtime. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. »

The ski season begins at the end of October in Sölden. The Beaver Creek speed events, which Vonn hopes to compete in as an opener, are scheduled for Dec. 14-15.
