The RSCA does not remain inactive: Hubert will quickly be supported

In recent days, calls have increased for David Hubert to remain Anderlecht’s head coach. This Thursday, the official confirmation came: the 36-year-old interim coach will become the permanent coach of T1. He will therefore be preferred to Ryan Mason and Raphael Wicky, which is a gamble on the part of Anderlecht.

If Hubert has taken over the interim role, his experience as a coach is otherwise zero. A year as an assistant at RSCA Futures and a match as coach of the U18 team, which lost 0-4 against Club Brugge. Here is Hubert’s full report before his promotion, three weeks after Brian Riemer’s dismissal.

The board of directors will support Hubert even in difficult times

As a young interim he has been forgiven for draws against Charleroi and Dender in recent weeks, so we will have to wait and see how Hubert will handle the pressure when it realises. But Anderlecht does not seem to want to abandon Hubert to his fate.

The board intends to continue supporting the coach even if the situation worsens, but according to Het Nieuwsblad, it is also considering adding a more experienced pawn to the technical staff. Otherwise, the team will remain intact, with all assistants remaining on board.

Possible arrival of a more experienced assistant

It is possible that Hubert will receive additional reinforcement in the form of an experienced mentor. However, this idea is not yet concrete and therefore no names are on the table.

Anderlecht can now work on the rest of the season in peace, starting with the league match at Beerschot and the European home match against Ludogorets, which are scheduled for just after the international break.

It will be interesting to see how Hubert’s latest appointment inspires the Mauve et Blanc.
