PSG’s reaction to the announcement of the takeover of FC by the Arnault family

After the announcement of the future takeover of FC by the Arnault family and the Red Bull company, Nasser al-Khelaïfi welcomed what, according to him, constitutes good news for French football and for the city of Paris. The feeling of the president of Paris Saint-Germain is shared within the LFP, where we are delighted with the attractiveness of for investors.

It was on the sidelines of the ECA Congress in Athens that Nasser al-Khelaïfi learned of the information of the upcoming takeover of the PFC by the Arnault family and Red Bull. The president of PSG was notably able to speak on Wednesday with one of the bosses of the energy drink brand Oliver Mintzlaff with whom he maintains very good relations.

The information surrounding the exclusive negotiations for the sale of the PFC to the third wealthy in the world, the Arnault family will gradually buy 85% of the club and will be associated with the Austrian firm (up to 15%), could in the medium term compete with PSG and its aura in the capital.

“Great news. It’s fantastic for Paris”

But obviously, Nasser al-Khelaïfi is happy to see a new player in Parisian football.

“This is great news. It’s fantastic for Paris, fantastic for French football. It will bring emulation and new healthy competition to the highest level of football in the capital,” we say in the PSG entourage.

Nasser al-Khelaïfi, who gets along “incredibly well” with the Arnault family, has the habit of inviting Antoine Arnault to the Carré du Parc des Princes. A stadium which could, however, be at the center of future negotiations to accommodate the two Ile-de-France teams.

The happy LFP

On the League side, we are also delighted with the arrival of such an investor in French football. The LFP is happy to see that powerful investors are investing in Ligue 1. In recent years, several elite clubs have attracted new wealthy investors.

A great success and real proof of the attractiveness of the French championship. From Larry Tanenbaum in Saint-Etienne, via BlueCo in , Bill Foley in or soon the Pagliuca family at Red Star and therefore the Arnault family: French football attracts. The fact that the PFC is bought by a French investor adds to the general satisfaction.
