According to Météo France, the worst of Storm Kirk which swept across France on Wednesday October 9 has passed. However, the weather police are keeping Seine-et-Marne on red alert this Thursday, October 10, 2024 as well as six departments on Orange flood alert.

Seine-et-Marne under close surveillance
A risk of “strong to exceptional” flooding on the Grand Morin river, a sub-tributary of the Seine, justified the placement of Seine-et-Marne on red alert, according to Vigicrues. School transport is suspended this Thursday in the department.
End of rain-flood alert and strong winds
In its bulletin for this Thursday morning, 6 a.m., orange alerts for rain-flooding and strong winds were lifted.
The six departments in orange for flood
In addition to Seine-et-Marne, confirmed on red alert for Thursday, Météo France also maintained six departments on high orange alert. However, orange wind vigilance has been lifted in all the departments concerned (Territoire-de-Belfort, Haute-Saône, Doubs) as well as flood vigilance in the Alpes-Maritimes.

67,000 homes without electricity
