Since Wednesday October 9, Storm Kirk, a former hurricane, has crossed . This Thursday, October 10, the disruption continues. Météo France places Seine-et- and six other departments on red alert for the risk of “strong and exceptional” flooding.

According to Météo France, the worst of Storm Kirk which swept across France on Wednesday October 9 has passed. However, the weather police are keeping Seine-et-Marne on red alert this Thursday, October 10, 2024 as well as six departments on flood alert.

Seine-et-Marne under close surveillance

A risk of “strong to exceptional” flooding on the Grand Morin river, a sub-tributary of the Seine, justified the placement of Seine-et-Marne on red alert, according to Vigicrues. School transport is suspended this Thursday in the department.

End of rain-flood alert and strong winds

In its bulletin for this Thursday morning, 6 a.m., orange alerts for rain-flooding and strong winds were lifted.

The six departments in orange for flood
