Nations League Prediction

It is never easy to win in Iceland…Israel realized this in June 2022 (2-2) as did Bosnia-Herzegovina (1-0) in September 2023. Slovakia and Portugal respectively won painfully in Reykjavik with scores of 1-2 and 0-1 (Ronaldo’s goal in the 89th minute) in June 2023. This is the heavy mission that awaits Wales during this 3rd day of the group stage of the Nations League.

Iceland, 3rd, 1 point behind Turkey and Wales, must try something against the Welsh to win. This Icelandic selection is sovereign on its lands since it displays good performances against Bosnia-Herzegovina (1-0), against Luxembourg (1-1) and in front of Liechtenstein (4-0) during the Qualifications for the Euro then against Montenegro (2-0) in this Nations League. Defeated in Türkiye (3-1) on the 2nd and final day, Iceland must bounce back.

Wales is co-leader with Turkey after 2 good scores against the same Turkey (0-0) at Cardiff City Stadium then against Montenegro (1-2). Quickly leading the score from the 3rd minute (0-2), the Welsh were moved and stressed at the very end of the match because Camaj reduced the score (1-2) in the 73rd minute and the local team was well pushed without managing to equalize. This success is good for Wales, who remained in 4 matches without a victory (2 draws and 2 defeats), in all competitions.
