German coach: Jürgen Klopp finds a job in football

Jürgen Klopp (57) finds the ball again. The German technician, free since his departure from Liverpool this summer, has been named boss of football within the Red Bull group. “I would like to develop, support and improve the incredible talents we have,” Klopp said in a Red Bull social media post. He will take up his new role on January 1, 2025, with a long-term contract.

Jürgen Klopp will have strategic responsibility for all clubs in the energy drink manufacturer’s galaxy. This mainly concerns Leipzig, Salzburg, New York, but also other teams like Leeds, which plays in the 2nd English division. The technician will have to provide clubs with his vast experience in terms of training, playing philosophy, talent development as well as transfers of players and coaches.

The contract of the former Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool coach includes an exit clause to become Germany coach. Over the years, Klopp has built up an impressive track record, including two German championship titles (2011/2012) and a German Cup (2012) with Dortmund. With Liverpool, he won an English championship (2020), an FA Cup (2022), two League Cups (2022/2024), a Champions League (2019) and a Club World Cup ( 2019).
