Klopp makes his comeback thanks to Red Bull

Jurgen Klopp stayed away from the world of football for much shorter time than he had expected. The former coach of Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, who left the ‘Reds’ a few months ago and hinted that he might retire from the sidelineswill return to the world of football just six months later, but to become Global Head of Football of a group as powerful as Red Bull.

The information was confirmed early this Wednesday morning by the company. Far from the pressure of the bench, his new position will allow Klopp to bring his global vision to the success of the teams that are part of the Red Bull group.

The first team that comes to mind is the RB Leipziga high-level team for several years, but which has not yet taken the plunge to fight on equal terms with the European elite. Red Bull also includes in its structure the teams of Salzburg, Leeds United, New York Red Bulls, RB Bragantino et Omiya Ardija.

According to information from ‘Sport Bild’, it was Oliver Mintzlaff, responsible for all the company’s sports projects, who decided to invest in Jürgen Klopp as CEO of Red Bull’s sports divisions. The former Liverpool manager will bring his specific knowledge, experience, contacts and charisma. He will become a mix of transfer and coaching strategist, analyst and consultant, becoming a cornerstone of these clubs’ development.

Although this role takes him away from the field, Red Bull’s idea is that if one of the coaches in the group needs advicehe will be able to contact Jürgen Klopp to make the best decision.

It is not yet known when the former coach will take over his new role, but it is believed that January 1 is the most likely date. “I want to develop, improve and support this incredible footballing talent that we have” Klopp said in the message announcing his arrival at Red Bull, the only official word on the matter so far.
