Dacia proves that size matters with Bigster

How many times have you heard that size doesn’t matter? Dacia proves to us that bigger is not necessarily less interesting.

Without denigrating the other Dacia models, the Duster is certainly the only vehicle in the range which can provoke a favorite purchase. From its launch, the SUV seduced with a solid look, real crossing capabilities and above all an almost unbeatable price. This is still true, and perhaps even more true than ever, with the latest generation adopting a decidedly modern design while retaining the DNA of the original model. Driving a Dacia is no longer an act of resistance but only becomes a smart choice, which is certainly the most important.

So if we offer you a little more Duster, will you take it? This is the proposal made today by Dacia with the Bigster.

When Dust means dust and makes you understand that your Duster has nothing against a little off-road and rough roads, Big means big and confirms that you will get what you pay for. No surprise, however, because the Bigster is ultimately just an extended Duster despite some very minor exterior modifications. Its generous dimensions remain harmonious thanks to simple, geometric, tense shapes and volumes, which go to the essential. The imposing fenders that protect the wheels, as well as the front headlights and rear lights pushed to the ends of the vehicle, help to reinforce its solid stance.

Bigster comes with 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, but it is of course the 19-inch wheels available as an option on the top Journey finish that suit it best. A giant in ballerinas is a stain. An offer of two-tone paint with black roof, a first for Dacia, further lightens the line despite an increased height of 3.5 cm. A Bigster who ultimately isn’t clumsy.

The interior does not change much except for the first time on a Dacia of a high console which integrates an armrest with refrigerated compartment, an induction charger and spacious storage. In this version, the screen increases to 10 inches compared to 7 for lower versions. Space is of course the strong point of this new proposal of 4.57 meters long, or 23 cm more than the Duster essentially gained on the rear overhang. The trunk thus reaches 660 liters.

Prices for the Duster start at 16,690 euros. Let’s wait and see if the Bigster doesn’t charge a high price for his extra centimeters.
