Loir-et-Cher, Indre-et- and Deux-Sèvres on orange alert this Wednesday

Storm Kirk is likely to cause damage. The depression resulting from a hurricane which formed near Cape Verde at the end of October will cross from Wednesday October 9, 2024. The Center and Poitou should be spared from the heavy rains and thunderstorms on Tuesday October 8 October afternoon, which will focus on the southwest and east of the metropolitan area.

On Wednesday October 9, wind gusts between 120 and 150 km/h are expected in the west of the Pyrenees at altitude, and 100 to 110 km/h in the plains, as well as heavy rain in several French regions.

Météo-France has just placed fourteen departments on orange rain flood alert for the day of Wednesday October 9, including Loir-et-Cher, Indre-et- and Deux-Sèvres. Indre and will be on yellow alert. These five departments will be on yellow alert for the winds on Wednesday.
