While the dynamics were nevertheless favorable to Guingamp, it was Clermont Foot who had a tough quarter of hours on their lawn against unrecognizable Bretons who lost with a score of 4-1 this Saturday, October 5! Clermont is in poor form and started the season badly in Ligue 2, but the Auvergnats managed to stand out and even take the lead quite clearly against a team of Guingamp which is the best attack in the championship tied with . On a deflected shot after a corner from his teammate, Yohann Magnin unlocked the scoreboard in the 9th minute for Sébastien Bichard’s men before young Ousmane Diop managed to double the lead, thanks to his good body play in the area (15th). We believe that En Avant will return from the locker room with better intentions but it is ultimately the Clermontois who will worsen the score, first through Famara Diedhiou who scores his first goal since his return, then via Diop for a doubled full of realism (53rd and 56th). The Guingamp waves broke against the goal guarded by Guivarch but the clumsiness of Sylvain Ripoll’s team prevented it from scoring more than one goal. Sagna only saves honor in the 88th minute, final score 4-1 for the relegated from Ligue 1 who is finally getting back on track.

The match referees Ajaccio arrived in Corsica after the transport strike and were called upon after Ibayi’s opening score from Kouassi’s cross from the left! Indeed, a contentious gesture which deserves to be debated earned Benjamin Santelli a direct red, who abandoned his teammates before the end of the first half by returning to the locker room prematurely. With numerical superiority, the visitors immediately managed to come back to the score through Oucasse Mendy and benefited from a great opportunity to win their second match in Ligue 2. The club from the imperial city held up well and even got opportunities to get back in front, including after the expulsion of Arsène Kouassi who, for having violently protested an arbitration decision, will make his team’s task even more difficult. But despite all these unfavorable factors, ACA will remain undefeated in Timizzolu (1-1) and will leave many regrets to those promoted who could and should have done much more.

The poster of the afternoon was certainly this opposition between the Stade Malherbe Caenwho wanted to preserve their good dynamic at home, and a FC Lorient who needs to further assert his favorite status. And the game started better for the Normans who, on a very nice opening from Brahim Traoré, will see Tidiam Gomis open his goal counter for the season. An intelligent gesture which will be imitated on the other hand by another very young player, Eli Junior Kroupi, already the author of his fourth goal in 2024-2025 to equalize after a well-negotiated one-two. The second period gave way to more technical waste and errors in the last 30 meters, and it was finally on a ball from Brahim Traoré that the situation was resolved in favor of FC Lorient, who scored a second goal by intermediary of the opportunist Bamba. They had difficulty, but the Merlus managed once again to take the three points thanks to a late goal (1-2), returning to 2nd in the general ranking while Caen fell back into its mistakes.
