Stade – Monaco: SRFC notes

Before the international break, Stade Rennes hosted Monaco. Here are the scores of the Rennes players, out of 10.

Mandanda: 4

A very complicated match for the goalkeeper who made no saves, being beaten twice. Not reassuring either in his restarts, and not far from a blunder during a poorly controlled exit (45+6th).

Seidu: 6

A solid match from the team soldier at the start of the season. Always fair, solid in duels, he was reliable in this meeting where Rennes had to manage Monaco’s through balls. Important interventions (19th in particular). Beaten to the mark on Monaco’s first goal however.

Ostigard: 4

A complicated first period before a more serene second. Always present in the air, he narrowly missed the restart, constantly pushing back before thinking in which area. Increasingly solid, he is however guilty of the second Monegasque goal, eaten by Balogun.

Faye : 5

A good first for a tenure which allowed him to show himself more. Solid in duels, sometimes technically imprecise, he did not hide. A shot off target (55th) as well.

Replaced by Assignon 20 minutes from time, for an unsuccessful offensive change.

Hateboer : 5

A strong match, good decisions and always clean transmissions. A safe bet, in piston for most of the match then in right axial position. Presence too, in a team which was terribly lacking in it.

Truffert : 4

A match in pain, particularly in the duel. Constantly pressing high, he struggled to get the ball out, and did not improve his crosses. Offensively in sight on several strikes, without success however.

Replaced by Nagida for the end of the match, all crazy.

Matusiwa : 5

Moved during this meeting where he had big clients facing him, he was somewhat messy in his decision-making, but delivered a decent match on the score.

Kamara : 5

A good technical touch in the middle and forward play, he helped to smooth the transmissions, but his influence declined as the match progressed. A shot off target (57th) before later giving way to Gomez, imprecise but voluntary.

Blas : 6

A flash to get back to the score, with a magnificent long shot, then activity on the front of the attack where it was most accurate. Placed back in the heart of the game at the end of the match, he existed less and wanted to keep the ball too much.

Gronbaek : 3

Half of his balls lost in half an hour, he weakly weighed on the opposing defense, missing almost everything he attempted. Not in the game, he came out injured, hit in the ankle, just before the break.

Replaced by Gouiri (3)not inspired at all for the second half.

Kalimuendo : 3

A dozen balls lost in the first period, and a match where he did not exist in the middle of a solid opposing hinge. Without connection with the other offensive players, he hit the post on his only chance after returning from the locker room.

Replaced by Jota in the last quarter of an hour, who created well.
