Iran against Israel, one front too many?

Tensions in the Middle East: Foreign Affairs provides details on Belgians wanting to leave Lebanon (LIVE)

The Iranian attack had the effect of closing ranks around Israel. This is all that Benjamin Netanyahu could hope for, who now has a boulevard in front of him to do “payer” Iran of its “huge mistake”. The big difference with the previous one is that the United States announced that it would work with its Israeli ally to ensure that this was indeed the case. In mid-April, Washington called on Tel Aviv to show restraint, which was then crumbling under criticism regarding its operations in the Gaza Strip. But the gradual expansion of the battlefield to various fronts has caused an increase in attacks, from which Israel must now be protected. As for the catastrophe in Gaza, it is relegated to the shadow of the new front in Lebanon, or even the still hypothetical one with Iran.

However, by attacking in all directions to defend itself, Israel endangers its population and fuels anti-Semitic violence around the world. At the same time as Iran sent some two hundred missiles against the Jewish state, a shooting broke out in Tel Aviv, which cost the lives of seven people and injured eight others. On Wednesday, two explosions rang out near the Israeli embassy in Denmark while gunshots hit its counterpart in Sweden on Tuesday evening. These coincidences are disturbing and call for the greatest vigilance, at a time when experts believe that anti-Semitic threats and attacks in Europe are far too recurrent to be spontaneous.
