this ingenious gadget to monitor your tires

At Skoda, clever gadgets are a trademark. The latest one is used to measure tire wear… And to scrape the frost off your windshield.

Rolls-Royce is known for integrating the umbrella into the door. At least your driver can directly access it before coming to pick you up in the back of your car. Well, at Skoda too. But that’s not all. The Czech firm has more than one trick up its sleeve. The proof with this little gadget from the brand new Elroq.

A Skoda gadget that can be practical

Skoda and the “Simply Clever” method is a love story. The brand belonging to the Volkswagen group has become accustomed to gadgets and other storage hidden here and there. That of the new 100% electric compact SUV is new proof of imagination overflowing with designers. And even though we call them “gadgets,” their use can sometimes be very practical.
So there’s nothing pejorative about it. And there are plenty of them in the new Skoda Elroq. The one that stands out from the others is certainly the tire wear indicator. Especially since it can be used as a scraper for your windshield on mornings when frost covers your car. In fact, this gadget already exists in the Czech brand’s catalog. But it was previously located at the fuel door.
From now on, Skoda moved it to the trunk. A very small space is dedicated to it on the side of the tailgate. We will not try to find out if its place is more logical here or at the gas cap. But she has changed.

Other items like this

The long list of Simply Clever items at Skoda includes a lot of different things. This ranges from the simple umbrella like at Rolls-Royce in the driver’s door, to the warning triangle in the tailgate. In the same style, there is a net under the rear shelf to store the charging cable as well as folding hooks on the sides of the trunk. In short, lots of “clever” little tools that can be used on a daily basis.
Even if it is a 100% electric model, The Skoda Elroq has a dent in the central tunnel. But this one has a storage trunk, notably with integrated cup holders for the rear passengers. In the luggage compartment, Skoda has placed two storage bins above the usual accommodations. In short, the Czech brand tried to optimize every little space. Either to store equipment or to improve comfort on board.
In the same genre, we still find a digital dashboard on board the Elroq… But with physical buttons. These shortcuts will please “technophobes”. In the same way as the indicator scraper will please aficionados of practical everyday gadgets.
