a two-stage judicial reconstitution

“We don’t want cameras anymore! » Met a few days ago, this shopkeeper from Prahecq will still have to put up with the journalists reporting images, they who recently returned to this commune of Deux-Sèvres located a dozen kilometers from .

The judicial reconstruction of the so-called Leslie and Kevin case, the first names of this young couple murdered, on the night of November 25 to 26, 2022, by a “commando” against a backdrop of romantic disappointment and drug trafficking, was then announced.

Essential in this case, this investigative act will take place in two stages, Wednesday October 2 and Thursday October 3, 2024, and will be secured by around sixty gendarmes.

“Replay” the double attack at night

The first day, the four main suspects are summoned, in particular with their lawyers and those of the civil parties, in a town of Prahecq placed under surveillance: there will be Tom Trouillet, presented as the mastermind of the attack, his supposed armed arms Nathan Badji and Mickaël Zadi, as well as Enzo Challat, who would have been a lookout. The first three are in pre-trial detention while the fourth is free, under judicial supervision.

The objective remains to “replay”, at night, the attack perpetrated in the stone house then rented by Tom Trouillet. The latter was staying there with Leslie Hoorelbeke, a 22-year-old house painter with whom he had already flirted before being rejected, and Kevin Trompat, 21 years old: his two hosts had recently become a couple.

The bodies of Leslie Hoorelbeke and Kevin Trompat, aged 22 and 21 respectively, were found, buried, by the gendarmes in Charente-Maritime: it was in Puyravault and Virson, two towns a handful of kilometers apart.

The next day in the middle of the afternoon, the quartet must be joined by Stevan Mathieu, he who would have acted as “cleaner”: “the K”, his nickname, is under judicial control. The five protagonists are expected on the borders of Niort and Magné, where Kevin Trompat had a fishing ground on the banks of the Sèvre: his body and that of his girlfriend would have been hidden there after the ambush. Before being transported to Charente-Maritime, where they will be found, buried, by gendarmerie investigators more than three months after the double disappearance.

“Everyone has their own truth”

“We hope that the accused will play the game to finally get the truth, advance Me Olivier Martinez, one of the two counsels of Guy Trompat, civil party who was convicted of having threatened to kill the accused. But we are not sure that we will succeed. »

For Me Orane Quénot, Nathan Badji’s lawyer, these two moments could also demonstrate “the level of disorganization” suspects. “Everyone has their own truth, sprinkled with lies,” retains Me Adrien Souet, on behalf of Leslie Hoorelbeke’s father and stepmother.

Trial classified as “sensitive”?

Seriously injured with a blunt object in Prahecq, the young woman was left for dead in the trunk of a Peugeot 207, alongside the corpse of Kevin Trompat, killed with a hammer: she would have been “finished off” the first time with a knife during the journey to Niort, a second time with a shovel when arriving on the ground. Which makes a lawyer say that“she was killed three times.”

With a planned duration of two or even three weeks, the assize trial will not be held before the end of 2025: it could be classified “sensitive”, the public prosecutor of Niort, Julien Wattebled, announcing that he will formulate the request to the Chancellery once the investigation is closed.
