Jostled for more than two hours by the surprising local, Yunchaokete Bu, in the semi‐finals of the ATP 500 in Beijing this Tuesday, Jannik Sinner did not have a great match despite a victory in two sets: 6–3, 7 –6(3).
Now qualified for his sixth final of the season, the world number 1 will meet a certain Carlos Alcaraz, impressive winner of Daniil Medvedev a few hours earlier.
Asked at a press conference about this 10e career duel, the Italian, who has two consecutive defeats against the Spaniard (at Indian Wells and Roland‐Garros this year), is inevitably expecting a very complicated match.
“Now I only think about tomorrow. But I have to rest because I don’t have much time. We know each other very well so I think it will be a very tactical and difficult match. Every match between us is very different, it depends on the context and the situation each time. It will be a match even different from the previous ones. In the meantime, I’m enjoying a new finale. I hope it will be a good match with victory at the end. »
