Match: Four Parisians expected during Arsenal/PSG

Traveling to Arsenal on the second day of the Champions League championship phase, PSG will have to deliver a big match to come away with a good result. Four Parisians seem particularly expected in this duel.

Gianluigi Donnarumma

Often imperial on his line, the Italian goalkeeper will be seriously challenged on two of his weak points: aerial balls in general and his ability to move within his goal area during set pieces, Arsenal being a great specialist famous ones blocs to hinder the goalkeeper. And if the Italian cannot manage this problem as best as possible, he will have to be even stronger on his line.

While he does not necessarily benefit from the same recognition abroad as in or Italy where he appears quite clearly to be a big name in his position, Donnarumma could make a positive impression even though he has not still had to provide just one big match this season, better protected by its defense than last year.

Nuno Mendes

His deflected cross which ended in an own goal against Girona (1-0) got PSG out of a real mess but the Parisian left-back still had a very ordinary start to the season, between neutral matches and repeated absences. Among the least competitive players in the squad since Beraldo is very far from being able to compete for the starting place, the young Portuguese must nevertheless respond.

His end of the European campaign last year showed him in serious difficulty against players like Lamine Yamal or Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka, his direct opponent this Tuesday evening, is also a big name. It’s up to Nuno Mendes to respond.

Vitinha

His status as an uncertain player a few hours before kick-off says a lot about his difficulties in really launching his season. His little ankle problems contracted in the selection have been ruining his life for several weeks now but PSG will need their best Vitinha to hope for a good result on an unwelcoming pitch, in particular to set the tempo.

And if the Portuguese were to miss out, it will probably be his young compatriot João Neves who will have to take up the torch, with the opportunity for him to sign a major performance in a particularly complicated context.

Bradley Barcola

In a Ligue 1 match on Friday evening against (3-1), Bradley Barcela scored more goals with his double than in his eleven Champions League matches played so far, his one and only achievement in the competition dating back to the round of 16 first leg against Real Sociedad last season (2-0). If Barcola is now a serious gunner in France, he is not yet on the floor above.

At a time when PSG is going to challenge one of the very best defenses in Europe, it is an understatement to say that the top Parisian scorer (6 goals this season) is expected and must hit the mark if he finds himself in a good position . And if Barcola wants to change its status on a European scale, shining on an English pitch is often a good way to do so.
