While the PS 5 Pro Plus is on everyone’s lips and Sony slowly reveals the games that will be optimized for this super console, a new connection failure to the PSN is stopping the frenzy of players on PlayStation.

This massive outage affects the entire PlayStation network, preventing players from logging into their profile, playing online multiplayer games, or even single-player games that require a PSN connection.

No improvements or explanations of the causes of the failure have been communicated. Is this related to the PS5 games home screen display issues that were reported and fixed just a few hours ago?

This is the 3rd outage since the start of the year

This is not the first time Sony’s network has gone down. In March and July, similar outages left PS5 and PS4 players stuck for several hours, preventing them from playing online or logging into the Playtation Store.

Previously, this type of malfunction was rather rare, but this is still the 3rd report of a breakdown since the start of the year. And above all, no explanation is given on the cause of these bugs. In March 2024, network problems started late in the day and lasted through the night. By early morning, the connection to PSN was restored but difficulties continued to be reported running certain online multiplayer games.

In July 2024, the outage even prevented players from accessing their profile. Only PlayStation Direct remained accessible, only allowing players to purchase hardware and accessories for their Sony games console.
