For five years, Sainte-Foy-la-Grande has been involved in the national Pink October breast cancer screening awareness campaign. A small educational exhibition will be installed from 1is until October 31 in the town hall hall, with key figures, advice on self-examination and fun visuals. The public will be able to make free donations in a dedicated box, at reception: all donations will be donated to the Gironde Committee Against Cancer League.
This mobilization is also an opportunity to remind people that a cork collection is organized all year round at the town hall, for the benefit of the Bergonié Institute, in order to finance research against cancer.
Souvenir photo
A key moment to remember: a pink solidarity photo on Tuesday October 15 at 1:30 p.m. in front of the town hall. Everyone is invited to participate in this moment, dressed in pink or simply wearing a pink accessory, to show their support for this national cause. The Suzanne-Chaumet municipal library will highlight various documents related to the cause defended by Pink October, documents which will be available for loan. It will also have a ballot box, like in town hall. Each donor will be offered a comic book from the library’s weeding (while stocks last).
Mobilisation
The Pays Foyen socio-cultural center will be present at several markets, including that of October 5 in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, and will participate in the march organized by the municipality of Saint-Avit-Saint-Nazaire. It will also offer a storytelling evening in partnership with the company Rouleparoles on Friday October 25 at 7 p.m. Finally, other structures are mobilizing in the region: IFAS, high schools, businesses, associations. Their program can be found on their social networks and websites. Information: entertainment service 05 57 46 10 84.
