Capdenac-Gare. Pink October: gym and hiking clubs team up once again

Sunday October 20, the Gym Club Capdenacois and AC Cancer will renew their commitment to the fight against cancer during a new edition of walking and fitness as part of the national Pink October operation, a national awareness campaign and mobilization for early detection of breast cancer, which aims to inform and encourage women to be screened regularly. Two routes, under the leadership of the Capdenac Rando 12 walking club, will be offered departing from the Agora Room: an 8-kilometer walk will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 5-kilometer walk at 10 a.m. At the same time, for indoor sports enthusiasts, a fitness session will be held from 9:30 a.m. in the Agora room. All of these activities are accessible to all, with participation set at €5 for adults and €2 for children under 15. All profits will be donated to the League Against Cancer, in order to support research and patients. The 2023 edition was a great success, with 1,200 euros raised thanks to the mobilization of 140 participants. “This collective effort has made it possible to provide valuable financial support to AC Cancer . We hope that this new edition will meet with similar enthusiasm, or even more, in order to continue to contribute to this noble cause”, confides Corinne Maury, president from the gym club. The organizers invite participants to respect the pink dress code, the symbolic color of the fight against breast cancer. At the end of the activities, a drink will be offered to thank the participants for their mobilization. The event is supported by several local partners, including the City of Capdenac-Gare, the League Against Cancer, Crédit Agricole Midi-Pyrénées and Intermarché Capdenac. A great opportunity to get involved with family or friends for a good cause, while enjoying a sporty and friendly morning.
