After the 4th round of the Coupe de France, which took place this weekend, there are only six clubs from Marne, three from the Ardennes and five from Aisne left competing in the legendary competition.
On the Ardennes side, Olympique Charleville-Prix (National 3) enforced the hierarchy against Petit Poucet Marnais, Saint-Martin / La Veuve / Recy (D2), 0-2). CS Sedan Ardennes (R2) easily dominated Val de l’Aisne (R3, 4-0) while Bogny-sur-Meuse (R1) won the 100% 08 duel against Haybes (D2, 2-5).
In Marne also, there is no longer a District level team in the running. SC Sézanne (R3) is the smaller team. The other qualifiers play either in Regional 2 (Reims-Murigny, Cernay-Berru-Lavannes, Tinqueux) or in R1 (Cormontreuil, Fagnières). The draw for the Grand Est will take place this Tuesday (6:30 p.m.) in Thionville.
Three District teams in Aisne
In Aisne, Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache is the Cinderella of the competition: the team playing in D3, took out Noailles-Cauvigny (2-1), which plays one division above. Guignicourt and Beaurevoir are the last survivors of D1. US Laon (R1) and Olympique de Saint-Quentin (N3) complete the list of qualifiers.
The draw for Hauts-de-France is scheduled for Thursday (6:30 p.m.), at the League headquarters.
