Jean-Pierre Foucault ready to hang up Miss ?

VIDEO – The regional Misses continue to be elected, weekend after weekend. And a few months before the highly anticipated election, the emblematic presenter gives information on his future in the organization.

Every year, viewers fear his departure. After 30 years presenting the election evening of the Miss competition, Jean-Pierre Foucault holds a record. And it is not on the occasion of this new anniversary that the host sees himself retiring. Guest of the “C media” talk show broadcast on France 5 this Sunday, September 29, he was questioned by columnist Lise Pressac about his future at the head of this evening.

Jean-Pierre Foucault first wanted to ironize those who were impatient with his departure. “It’s been ten years since I presented Miss France, but I’m still here. It’s been ten years since I presented Miss France for 10 people, whom I salute”he joked before adding: “By telling them that I will be there again this year in December for my thirtieth birthday. […] For now, unless there are compelling health reasons, I will be there.”

The journalist then tried everything by reminding him of one of his promises: if Miss Provence was elected one day, he would hang up the presentation. “Yes, but I’m the one who makes the selections…”he said before withdrawing his remarks by making a joke. And to resume more seriously: “One day I will have to stop. I’m now 46, or 48, I can’t count. But for the moment I feel in a position to still be able to provide the only big live broadcast on French television lasting more than three hours, without cutting without editing.”

Presenter Mélanie Taravant then also tried to extract some information from Jean-Pierre Foucault about his possible successor, the day the question should arise. “We are not there yet but even if it were to be very, very close, I think that a woman to present Miss France would be a good idea.”
