FASHION STORY – Amal Clooney: her Stella McCartney white top and pants set for her civil wedding

Memorable elegance. This Sunday, September 29, 2024, George and Amal Clooney celebrate their tin wedding anniversary. Indeed, on September 29, 2014, the star ofOcean’s Eleven flew to Venice to take the hand of Amal Alamuddin. Before celebrating for three days alongside Matt Damon, Bono, Bill Murray, Sandra Bullock and Emily Blunt, the lovers exchanged their rings soberly at the town hall of the City of the Doges. The whole world was then amazed by the look of the young bride, who had decided to break the codes for the happiest day of her life.

Tenderly holding the hand of her future husband, the British lawyer born in Lebanon opted for a retro look with an off-white top and pants set by Stella McCartney. This combo then competed with the most beautiful wedding dresses all in tulle and volume with a purity of lines provided by a flowing top with a boat neck structured by a wide black band at the belt. To complete this look worthy of Audrey Hepburn, Amal Clooney chose high-waisted pants with pleats and a flared bottom, enhancing her slender figure. To accessorize this modern bridal look worthy of the daring ensemble worn by Bianca Jagger on her wedding day, the mother of twins Ella and Alexander replaced the traditional lace veil with a large cream hat with an ebony band following the geometry of the the outfit, as well as a voluminous clutch.

Like Amal Clooney, these stars decided to revisit the traditional wedding outfit

Amal Clooney isn’t the only famous bride to break the mold at her wedding. On July 4, 1999, Victoria Beckham created a surprise during her wedding with David Beckham by opting for a strapless eggplant-colored silk dress marked by a strap created from XXL flowers, designed by Antonio Berardi, an English designer from Sicilian origin known for his futuristic creations. Just like Posh, many famous brides have decided to ban white for the happiest day of their lives: in 2002, Gwen Stefani tinted the bottom of her immaculate dress, made by John Galliano for Dior, with a bright pink to marry Gavin Rossdale, Poppy Delevingne appeared in a bohemian Emilio Pucci dress embroidered with multicolored flowers to celebrate her love with James Cook in 2014.
