The Union ended a series of four games without a goal by beating Kortrijk 3-0 on the 9th day of the championship.
The Union, which had not scored in four matches in the league, returned to victory on Sunday by beating Kortrijk 3-0 thanks to Mohammed Fuseini (18th), an autogoal from Joao Silva (51st) and Franjo Ivanovic (77th) . After the 9th day, the Brussels residents occupy 8th position with 13 points like Antwerp (6th) and La Gantoise (7th), which hosts OHL at 6:30 p.m. The Kerels are 14th (8 points).
On the Unionist side, Sébastien Pocognoli preferred Mathias Rasmussen and Ousseynou Niang to Fedde Leysen and Casper Terho. At Kortrijk, Freyr Alexandersson included Nayel Mehssatou, Roko Simic, Ryan Alebiosu and Mounaim El Idrissy in his starting XI in place of the injured Dion De Neve and Gilles Dewaele, Nacho Ferri and, more surprisingly, Brecht Dejaegere.
These changes did not prevent the Union from creating danger with long forward passes. Not very precise, the Brussels residents opened the scoring with a missed shot from Ivanovic, which landed at the feet of Fuseini (18th, 1-0).

The Union had found the right rhythm and a one-step shot from Ivanovic was blocked in the extremes by Joao Silva (28th). The Portuguese was less happy when he deflected a cross from Ivanovic into his goal for Fuseini (51st, 2-0).
Although they then had the ball more often, the Courtraisians did not put on a show. On the contrary, Joao Silva again pushed back an attempt from Ivanovic on the line (68th). The Croatian still ended up scoring his first goal for the Union after a one-two with Terho (77th, 3-0). Anthony Moris guaranteed the great success of the Union by deflecting a free kick into the opposite corner from Abdelkahar Kadri (90th + 5).
