Dani Olmo is still out. The midfielder could not participate in Saturday’s training sessionFC Barcelona’s last before facing Valencia in another key match to continue their comeback in La Liga.
With just hours to go before the game, Olmo is ruled out as he is still recovering from an overloaded soleus muscle in his right leg. Since his registration was resolved, the European champion has played in three games: the Super Cup final, Betis (he provided two assists) and Getafe.
This will be the second one he has missed since then. He missed the Champions League clash against Benfica in midweek, in which Barca staged an epic comeback (4-5), due to the aforementioned problem. He is now out of the squad for the clash against Valencia this Sunday in Montjuic.
In addition to Dani Olmo, Inigo Martinez was also unable to train due to the muscular ailment that he still has and which will keep him out until mid-February. There are also the situations of Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Bernal, both of whom have long-term injuries.
-The most notable new addition to the training session was the presence of Quim Junyent. Hansi Flick called up the 17-year-old midfielder from the youth team to take part in the session at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper.
