AA Gent wants to take its time to detect the trainers market and to look for a successor for Wouter Vrancken. After 3.5 seasons as an assistant, Danijel Milicevic (39) temporarily takes over as a head coach. In the meantime, the Buffalos would be very close to the arrival of Dante Vanzeir (26).

The 39-year-old Swiss gets his chance as an interim trainer, without a clear deadline. If it is not too bad, it is not excluded that he will stay on for a long time. In the meantime, Ghent hopes to be prepared to be able to switch quickly and to have a coach with more experience ready.

Dante Vanzeir lands in Ghent

-

For the time being there is no white smoke yet, but Dante Vanzeir (26) has already landed in Zaventem and has already reported in Ghent. The intended offensive acquisition is already in Ghent where he was also taken care of by, among others, sporting manager Arnar Vidarsson and sporting adviser Gunther Schepens.

Red Bull paid five million two years ago for the striker, but now only recovers part of it. Vanzeir is not immediately deployable. His last game dates from the beginning of December, after which he was on vacation and only now started training again with his American club. Despite his arrival, Ghent still wants attacking reinforcement. Rwan Cruz from the Bulgarian Ludogorets proved to be too expensive for the time being. With the arrival of Vanzeir, Gent hopes in a more comfortable negotiating position to find something affordable in the last week.
