A man suspected of the double murder of Maëva and Martin is actively sought in Normandy. He was spotted thanks to his license plate when he passed the Normandy bridge.
Two deaths, and many unanswered questions.
The lifeless bodies of Maëva Gazé and Martin Delamare, two residents of Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados), were found Thursday January 23 in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, a village located 10 km from their place of residence . Aged 20, the two young people had been missing since the day before.
One of the bodies has “significant wounds on the face” and the other has “marks likely to correspond to bullet impacts”, indicated the public prosecutor of Caen, Joël Garrigue. The prosecution also indicates that “the circumstances in which these two young people were killed and the reasons why they were killed are not known and no hypothesis is excluded.”
This tragedy would, however, be linked to a “narcotics affair”, underlines Ici Normandie, which specifies that the author of the facts has been identified. It is believed to be a man who fled in a vehicle whose license plate was detected as it passed over the Normandy bridge.
He was then heading towards Seine-Maritime, which would explain the mobilization of a gendarmerie helicopter in this department in the middle of the day.
The media specifies that numerous messages on motorist groups on social networks called for people not to report road checks, so as not to hinder the hunt for the wanted man.
-“She no longer answered me”
The young woman's car, “a dark gray and black C1”, was discovered in the village where the bodies were found, the young woman's bag inside. The vehicle was parked in a parking lot opposite the town hall.
“My daughter had to go shopping at Action in Pont-l'Évêque. I spoke with her at 12:15 p.m. and then I tried to call her at 1:15 p.m., but she no longer answered me. She probably never went there, because nothing was found in her trunk,” Sylvie Gazé, Maëva’s mother, told Ouest-France on Thursday morning. According to information from our colleagues, the two young people had been a couple for two years. Maëva had created her own concierge service while Martin was unemployed.
Three mobile phones were found in a trash can, “a little further away”, and the couple's dog was found near the parking lot.
A judicial investigation was opened against X on the charge of murder. Investigations are continuing under the direction of an investigating judge.
