Storm Éowyn threatens British Isles: Ireland goes into ‘shutdown’, code red in parts of the United Kingdom
The British weather service has also declared code red, including for Northern Ireland. It’s the first time something like this has happened since 2011. Code red will also apply in parts of Scotland tomorrow, and code yellow will apply in the rest of the UK.
“We only declare a code red when the weather poses a risk to human life and will cause serious disruption, and that is the case with Storm Éowyn,” the Met Office’s chief weather forecaster said. The British weather service predicts wind gusts of up to 160 kilometers per hour on the west coast.
