An aerial tragedy hits Savoie. Two people aged 58 and 26 died Tuesday afternoon after their microlight crashed into a chalet in Méribel-les-Allues, the department prefecture said.

The accident, which occurred around 5 p.m., involved in addition to the device, a two-seater paraglider. The machine crashed “at roof level” of the house, the prefecture said.

Victims killed instantly

Aged 58 and 26, the two occupants of the ULM were killed instantly. The two paragliders emerged “unharmed” from the accident, the “precise circumstances” of which remain to be determined “as part of the judicial investigation”, added the prefecture.
