Officially: Liverpool and Barcelona are the first to qualify for the Champions League final – Elbotola
On Tuesday evening, Liverpool and Barcelona officially qualified for the 16th round of the Champions League under its new system.
Liverpool was able to reserve a place in the eighth final of the competition after topping the standings with 21 points, following a 2-1 victory over Lille.
On the other hand, Barcelona achieved an exciting victory over Benfica, yesterday evening, (5-4), after it was late in the result, to pass in turn to the round of 16, being in second place in the standings with 18 points.
The eighth and final round of the first round will be held on Wednesday, January 29, to identify the remaining teams that qualify for the Champions League final.
