Season 1 of The Night Agent follows Peter (Gabriel Basso) as he finds himself embroiled in a vast conspiracy. To save the nation, Peter embarks on a manhunt to stop a mole operating in the highest echelons of the American government.
Hunted by the FBI and by two assassins who wish to kill his protégé, Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), the intrepid agent discovers that it is the Vice-President of the United States, Redfield, who is secretly plotting to have Omar Zadar assassinated. , a Balkan dissident leader of the People's Liberation Front. He's the one behind the bomb attack that Peter tried to stop at the start of season 1.
-While this attack failed, Redfield and his henchman decided to attack Zadar a second time, during his meeting at Camp David with Travers, the President of the United States. Diane Farr (Hong Chau), Travers' closest advisor who agreed to protect Redfield, discovers the Vice President's new plans and helps Peter sneak into Camp David to protect the leader.
The latter discovers that two bombs were planted by crooked agents and with the help of Arrington (the one who protects Maddie Redfield), they manage to deactivate one of the two. Peter tries to warn Travers that his life is threatened but he is quickly challenged for his safety. When her helicopter explodes next to her, she realizes that Peter has told her the truth.
