US President Donald Trump arrived at the White House after his inauguration ceremony on Monday to begin his duties as President of the United States for a second term, confirming that he will cancel about 80 executive orders taken by the previous administration, and will implement an immediate freeze on regulations and employment in the government.

Trump said – in front of a crowd in Washington after his inauguration – “I will cancel about 80 destructive and extreme executive decisions taken by the previous administration.”

He added, “I will implement an immediate freeze on regulations, which will prevent bureaucrats under (former President) Joe Biden from continuing to issue regulations,” adding that he will also issue “a temporary hiring freeze to ensure that we employ only qualified people who are loyal to the American people.”

Earlier Monday, Trump announced the creation of an advisory group aimed at implementing comprehensive reductions in the government workforce and wholesale eliminations of government agencies, prompting some to file lawsuits challenging the move.

Agreement

Trump has already signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement for the second time, in a move that challenges international efforts to combat global warming.

Trump followed his order to sign an official letter addressed to the United Nations to inform the global body that his country intends to exit the agreement concluded in 2015 that seeks to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases that cause climate change.

After his inauguration, he also announced the broad outlines of his administration’s internal policy, and delivered a speech minutes after he and his deputy, J.D. Vance, were sworn in before members of the Constitutional Court, thus becoming the 47th president of the United States.

He said that the golden era of the United States has begun now, and that he will put America first, considering that his government can confront the crisis in the country.

He added that America will soon become stronger and more sustainable than it was before.

He also said that America will regain its rightful position as the greatest, strongest, and most respected country on earth.

He continued, “We now stand on the threshold of the greatest 4 years in American history.”

The US President promised that his administration would move quickly to restore security and hope for all American citizens, saying, “We will restore our security, our sovereignty, and the scales of justice.”
