Discover our tops and our flops following Lille's victory against Nice (2-1) this Friday on the lawn of the Decathlon Arena-Stade Pierre-Mauroy on the occasion of the 18th day of Ligue 1.
The tops
Sahrawi, decisive entry
Bruno Genesio had a hollow nose. While his team was on the street in the first period and could have been more widely led at the break, the Lille coach launched Osame Sahraoui in place of Rémy Cabella. The Moroccan striker brought a whole new energy to LOSC with a lot of movement to put in difficulty a Nice block which withered away over the minutes. An entry into play which changed the situation because he was at the origin of the action allowing the equalizer.
Voluntary Diop
First scorer of the match, Sofiane Diop was able to shake the Lille rearguard by scoring each of his two attempts against Lucas Chevalier. If he did not necessarily succeed everything, he was an essential link in a dominant Riviera team during the first 45 minutes before giving in to the northerners' renewed form. His ability to hinder the opponent's recovery was invaluable before his exit at the start of the last quarter of an hour to make way for Badredine Bouanani.
Haraldsson decisive
Placed in support of Jonathan David, Hakon Haraldsson was able to be effective because his only shot hit the target and allowed his team to get back on the path to a victory at home this Friday against Nice. The Icelandic midfielder, almost invisible like almost his entire team during the first period, regained confidence after the break, successfully leading his team's play. A solid performance which ended as added time approached, when he gave way to Aissa Mandi.
-The flops
Dante not serene
It wasn't a great evening for Dante. If he was not put in difficulty in the first period thanks to Lille's apathy, the Brazilian defender showed his limits during the last 45 minutes by being too often absent in the duels. Unable to impose his size in his own penalty area, the Nice captain weakened his team. Which could only be felt on the scoreboard at the final whistle of this match.
David on AC
There's something wrong with Jonathan David. Brilliant before the confectioners' break, the Canadian striker has been much less comfortable since the restart. Although he was the decisive passer on Hakon Haraldsson's goal, the LOSC number 9 did not weigh on the opposing defense as he was able to do earlier this season. His contractual situation, with a commitment which expires at the end of the season, could explain the difficulties currently experienced by the Canadian.
Clauss guilty
Jonathan Clauss did not show his best face this Friday in Lille. The Nice right-back, although he was in great demand, did not meet all expectations. Decisive on Sofiane Diop's goal, the former OM player was unable to intervene in the equalizer and it was above all he who had the misfortune of putting the ball back on Bafodé Diakité on Lille's second goal. The Nice defender thus produced a very passable copy, also weighed down by the yellow card received shortly before half-time.
