Holder of a Master's degree in international law, I realized at the end of my university career that it was important to evolve in a field that you appreciate. Overnight, I decided to put an end to my parents' dream, who saw in me a future lawyer, to make a living from my passion: sport. Since then, I have covered transfer windows and sports news, trying to keep readers informed as best as possible.
During his playing career, Samir Nasri was sometimes irritated by the media treatment he received. But his perception of the media world completely changed after his retirement from sports, particularly since he took on the role of consultant for Canal +. This Friday, he returned to his new role.
Between Samir Nasri and the media, it has long been “ I love you, neither do Is”. With a strong character, the Marseillais has often taken a dislike to certain journalists. Insults were even uttered against a Spanish journalist during theEuro 2012. Today, Nasri is on the other side of the stage. And his perception has radically changed. “ I love it! » he blurted. In an interview given to The Team, he explained his arrival on the air of Canal +.
-Nasri explains his new role
« When Canal offered it to me, my mother fell ill and I wanted to come back to France more often to be with her. But already, when I participated in Canal shows as a player, people told me: “After your career, there is a place for you here!” “. The channel was looking for someone for the Champions League and Premier League posters. With my outspokenness and my experience in these competitions, I had the profile (…) I only judge the performance, I never give up a dig to create a buzz. But viewers expect to be told what they saw, with constructive criticism. I'm from Marseille but if I have to praise PSG, I do it » said Nasri.
“It’s the game”
And if we had to criticize Mehdi Benatia, today at theABOUT ? « First, I would start by talking to him in private. Between friends, we say things to each other. If a criticism must be made on the air, that's fair game. But as I don't intervene too much on Ligue 1 this season (Canal+ does not broadcast it), I have no reason to get angry with my friend (laughs) » confided Nasri.
