It escapes censorship. A majority of deputies did not vote to bring down the government of François Bayrou, defeating the motion of censure tabled by France Insoumise and signed by environmentalist and communist deputies. This was in fact largely rejected since only 131 deputies voted to overthrow the executive.
The socialist deputies, who “remain in the opposition”, have in fact decided, after discussions and voting in office, not to come out in favor of censoring the government. Note, however, that eight deputies who are members of the Socialists and Allies group voted for the LFI motion of censure.
For its part, the National Rally had indicated that it would not vote for this motion of censure while considering that François Bayrou “deserved to be sanctioned”.

-In October 2024, the National Assembly rejected the first motion of censure filed against then Prime Minister Michel Barnier. The latter, however, was overthrown in December by another motion of censure after having taken responsibility for the social security budget.
Forced to resign from his post, Michel Barnier left his place at Matignon to François Bayrou, appointed Prime Minister on December 13.
