The leader of the deputies of La France insoumise criticized the composition of François Bayrou's government this Tuesday, following the Prime Minister's general policy speech.
Following the general policy speech by Prime Minister François Bayrou, the various group presidents in the National Assembly reacted to the comments of the head of government. Among them, the leader of the La France insoumise deputies Mathilde Panot spoke directly to François Bayrou this Tuesday, January 14.
“Mr. Prime Minister, you were desperately waiting for your time. Your time has come and you respect nothing. You respect nothing, neither the results of the ballot boxes nor the sovereignty of the people. Your government recycles the architects of France's misfortune to play in the gloom the requiem of the macronie”, declared Mathilde Panot to the National Assembly.
Manuel Valls and Élisabeth Borne targeted by Mathilde Panot
The elected representative from Val-de-Marne also denounced the composition of the government, particularly targeting Élisabeth Borne and Manuel Valls, respectively Minister of Education and Overseas Territories.
“We have never seen a government with an imposed Prime Minister and two former Prime Ministers at his side. One is infamous for the forfeiture of nationality, the Labor law and for having already betrayed the result of a vote Defeated in France, he went and lost the elections in Catalonia before returning to your government,” she continued, referring to the career of Manuel Valls.
“The other is renowned for the forceful passage of the outrageous pension reform and the repression of the largest social movement since May 1968,” she continued, this time attacking Élisabeth Borne.
Mathilde Panot recalled her group's desire to repeal this reform and denounced François Bayrou's budget which “will be even worse than Michel Barnier's”, according to the rebellious elected official.
La France insoumise will table a motion of censure against François Bayrou but, in the absence of the support of the socialists and the National Rally, it is unlikely that it will lead to the hasty departure of François Bayrou.
