Charles had a very good career in the Star Academy 2024. The 18-year-old reached the semi-finals. He was unfortunately eliminated at the gates of the final, against Marine, as TF1 viewers were able to discover on January 11. He will still make his return to the castle this week, as well as during the next bonus, since Ebony chose him after winning her evaluation against Franck. They will therefore share a duet, a subject on which the candidate confided in Purepeople.
If you had the choice, who would you have faced in the semi-final?
Either I assumed that I wanted to make the final with Marine, so I would have chosen someone else, telling myself that I had a chance of making it with her. Either, wanting to share one last bonus with Marine, I would have chosen her. I don't know.
What will you miss the most?
It's the atmosphere at the castle, my friends, the moments of crazy laughter, the moments with the teachers, the rehearsals with Lucie and Fanny.
You will still come back for an evening and a duo during the next bonus, since Ebony chose you after winning her evaluation. Did you expect it?
Deep down, I told myself it was possible. But in reality, I didn't expect it that much since I had just left. I'm happy, it's cool, especially since I never got to share a duet with Ebony.
You had the opportunity to meet your audience last week or during the showcase in Beaugrenelle. How does it feel to see that there are so many people behind you?
It feels weird. Going from anonymity to lots of people knowing you is quite strange. Especially since there is no real transition. When we returned, no one knew us. And from week 1, that changed. But we had no perspective on that, no one knew. So obviously, going out is a little unsettling. But as we are very well surrounded and supervised, it happens on its own.
During your adventure, you had the opportunity to meet Lénie, who participated in the 2023 edition. You did not hide that you liked Lénie, a crush who was revealed live with the Star Ac Mix. How did you feel at that moment?
-At that moment, I felt very embarrassed since basically, it started from a joke with Noah, Ulysse Thomas and the others. And it’s true that it has taken on an impossible scale. Poor thing, she didn't ask for anything. It calmed down afterwards fortunately, but I was very embarrassed.
Did you have the opportunity to talk about it with Lénie?
Not yet. It turns out it made her drunk so really, I'm sorry. But that's okay, it was fun.
What can we wish you next?
Releasing my songs, doing my own concerts after the tour, continuing to sing and making a living from music. And be happy in my life.
What universe would you like to offer?
I often give examples, such as SOS from an earthling in distress, My brother, Rise Like a Phoenix, Letter to France… As soon as there are notes that are a bit compelling and it tells a story, I really like it. The goal is for me to write my songs. I know that I have been criticized a little for not writing about it. It's just that I arrived with zero foundation while some had studied music theory, had learned to play an instrument and had a foundation in writing. I didn't know how to do much. I only knew how to sing. But also thanks to Ulysse, I discovered how it happened and it made me want to write my own songs. I even learned to play a little piano and guitar.
