Anderlecht lost 0-3 to Club Brugge on Sunday. Hein Vanhaezebrouck sees that reinforcement is urgently needed.
Things haven’t been going so well at Anderlecht lately. After the losses against FCV Dender and KRC Genk, it is already the third competition defeat in a row for the purple and white.
According to Hein Vanhaezebrouck, the people of Brussels urgently need reinforcement. “A good mercato can help to improve the quality of the core,” he begins at Het Nieuwsblad.
“After 25 minutes, Anderlecht had only won a third of the matches. That was also the case before New Year’s. Not much has changed at Anderlecht,” the former coach continues. But what exactly do they need?
“Good constructive central defenders, just like a defensive midfielder who can distribute the game,” he answers clearly. A striker is not necessary according to Vanhaezebrouck.
“I wouldn’t get a centre-forward. He won’t play much as long as Dolberg is there. Unless you sell Vazquez and find a good substitute. Huerta is already there and he seems like an interesting player: he kicks easily and well from distance, with left and right, has dribbling skills, has an overview. He is not very fast, but he does have great running ability,” he concludes.
