Plymouth Argyle beat Brentford as Black Stars Forward Michael Baidoo makes debut – Citi Sports Online

Black Stars forward Michael Baidoo’s debut for EFL Championship side Plymouth Argyle coincided with a historic win for The Pilgrims.

Plymouth bagged the biggest shock of Round 3 games in the 2024-2025 Emirates FA Cup season by beating EPL side Brentford 1-0 away from home.

Morgan Whittaker scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute and the win qualifies Plymouth to the fourth round of the competition.

Plymouth’s win is a remarkable feat considering The Pilgrims rank bottom of the Championship and recently sacked football legend Wayne Rooney from his role as head coach of the team.

A week after making his transfer from Swedish side Elfsborg to Plymouth for a club record 1.75 million Euros, Baidoo made his debut in the FA Cup against Brentford.

In 60 minutes, the 25 year old had 17 touches and successfully completed six of nine pass attempts while winning all three ground duels. He was replaced with Mustapha Bundu.

Prior to his move, Baidoo scored 10 goals in 27 league games for Elfsborg that led to a callup to the Black Stars.
