On the occasion of Regaip Kandili, an event was organized by Baykan District Imam-Hatip Secondary School at the Municipality Conference Hall.
The event, organized by the teachers and students of the school, started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
School Principal Abdurrahman Gündüz said that the purpose of the event is to give little children a sense of sharing and tolerance, to ensure that students continue to learn our traditions, customs and values, and to bring our little children together with the public on this meaningful day.
The speaker at the event was Siirt University Faculty of Theology Deputy Dean Assoc. Dr. Abdurrahman Ece attended. Speaking at the event, Siirt University Faculty of Theology Deputy Dean Assoc. Dr. Abdurrahman Ece started his speech by celebrating everyone’s ‘Regaib Kandil’ and said, “As the Islamic world, we have entered the climate of mercy, abundance and forgiveness, which is called ‘three months’ among our people. Tonight, we realize the Regaib Kandil, which heralds our entry into the spiritual season. For believers, of course, all Times are precious and should be lived with the awareness of servitude in order to gain God’s consent. “Nights are very valuable opportunities for us to realize our purpose of creation and to take stock of our relationships with creators and creatures and the life we live.” he said. Vice Rector Ece noted that when we delve into the root of the word Regaib, we encounter a very deep meaning and said, “Regaip literally means wanting, desiring and making an effort to obtain something. The important point here is that just wanting something is not enough. We need to strive, work hard and show great effort to make our wishes come true. Under today’s conditions, unless what I have just expressed is done, neither our wishes will come true nor success will become a reality, our dear students. “Even if you are not, you all set out with ‘regaib’. My biggest prayer on this blessed day is that you all achieve your goals and become good individuals for your homeland and nation.” he said.
The poems and hymns read by the students and the orotoryo show attracted great attention from the audience.
Baykan Mayor Ekrem Erdem, Siirt University Faculty of Theology Deputy Dean Assoc. Prof. attended the event. Dr. Abdurrahman Ece, Baykan Municipality Editor-in-Chief Yahya Gülümser, representatives of non-governmental organizations, institution heads, parents, teachers and students attended.
