Patrick Gendraud, president of the Yonne departmental council, has died

Patrick Gendraud, president of the Yonne departmental council since 2017, died on the night of December 31 to 1is January at the age of 72. The prefect of Yonne, Pascal Jan, who greets the “great human qualities” of the one who knew “bring together all sensitivities around a development and attractiveness project for the department”specifies in a press release that Patrick Gendraud is dead “following a long illness”.

Former mayor of Courgis from 1992 to 2001, then of the town of Chablis from 2001 to 2017, Patrick Gendraud devoted most of his political career to the department of Yonne, apart from an unsuccessful candidacy for the legislative elections in 2012. This Chiraquien of origins, who successively wore the colors of the UMP, the UDI then the Republicans, had left the latter in 2022, in reaction to the election of Eric Ciotti as president of the party.
