On Monday, conditions should hardly change, Météo-France predicts. In the South-West, the sun will be present in the morning in the southern part of the region while grayness will envelop the north. But the star of the day will gain ground over the hours to impose itself everywhere at the end of the afternoon, accompanied by maximum seasonal temperatures, between 5 and 10°C. This impression of good weather will also dominate Tuesday, the last day of 2024, still relatively cool (4 to 11°C at best).
Gale in the North on Wednesday
On New Year's Eve night, the sky will remain clear and the atmosphere will be rather cold in the absence of cloud cover (between 0 and 5°C), with possible fog which revelers should be wary of when returning. The first day of 2025 will look very similar to the last day of 2024, with a sunny Wednesday across the South-West and slightly rising temperatures (up to 6 to 13°C at midday).
In the north of France, on the other hand, conditions will be less favorable. “From Tuesday, the anticyclone that has been clamped over France for a week will begin to weaken,” warns La Chaîne Météo, adding that a “disturbed Atlantic regime will take over” and could be accompanied by “a deterioration weather conditions with a risk of strong winds in the north of France. If the winds should still be moderate north of the Loire during the night of New Year's Eve, they could increase on Wednesday, with possible gusts “of more than 100 km/h”.
Return of grayness Thursday in the South-West
Thursday January 2, this gale will affect almost the entire territory, even if the strongest gusts will still be concentrated in the far north of the country and Brittany. The depression will gain ground throughout the day and will end up affecting the entire South-West at the end of the day, with gray weather and a few showers, all in a relatively mild atmosphere (7 to 12°C l 'afternoon).
