TCS staff spread some festive cheer with Secret Santa appeal

Tata Consultancy Services employees are pictured at TCS Campus in Letterkenny as they volunteered as Secret Santa for this year’s Donegal Lifestart Services Christmas Toy Appeal.

A total of 57 staff from TCS Letterkenny’s Global Delivery Centre took part in the appeal, donating enough toys to support more than 50 children this festive season.

The initiative invited people to volunteer to be paired with a child in the community. Volunteers were then given some anonymous information including their age, gender, some interests, and a recommended spending limit to help them choose the ideal gift.

The heartwarming project aimed to bring a little bit of holiday magic to children whose parents/guardians may be in financial hardship.

Mary Walker Callaghan, Regional Manager, Lifestart Services saidThe level of need and disadvantage in Donegal is extremely high and increasing year on year.

“We had over 300 children on our list this year, with a further 60 added since the appeal opened in November.

“Poverty is so hidden in Donegal and many people are struggling, people who are working and finding it very difficult to make ends meet.

“The Donegal Christmas Toy Appeal and the amazing contribution from the staff at TCS will bring so much joy and comfort to so many children and their families throughout Donegal – children who otherwise may not for a number of reasons experience the joy, wonder and magic of Christmas.”
