It’s time for the Christmas holidays. Bison Futé warns against “circulation difficile” on the roads in the direction of departures, Friday December 20, which will be “the busiest day” before a weekend which promises to be smoother. “The days before Christmas, traffic will be heavy, particularly on the outskirts of major cities. From Friday until Tuesday, traffic jams should be very heavy in these areas, mainly in the afternoon”warns the public body.
“Christmas Day positioned on Wednesday should lead to a spread of departures between Friday and Tuesday”however, notes Bison Futé to explain the absence of a black day. Friday, in the direction of departures, “all roads should be very busy”particularly “towards the Alps (A43 and access to the Mont-Blanc Tunnel) and the Mediterranean coast (mainly A7, A50)”. The day will even be classified red in Ile-de-France.
On Saturday, the main difficulties are expected in Ile-de-France in the direction of departures. “These departures combined with trips to the various shopping centers or leisure places could make traffic difficult until the end of the afternoon”according to Bison Futé. Sunday is classified as green in both directions, before new difficulties expected on Monday and Tuesday in the Paris region.
