DC Comics unveiled this Thursday, December 19, the trailer for the highly anticipated Supermandirected by James Gunn, which is supposed to bring new life to the franchise. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan succeed Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as Clark Kent and Lois Lane. And it sparks.

James Gunn, former Marvel tenor to whom we owe the trilogy of Guardians of the Galaxy, I imagined they are Superman like a return to basics. The homage to the film with Christopher Reeves is obvious, notably by the music which resonates throughout this little more than two minutes of trailer, which otherwise contains almost no dialogue. With SupermanJames Gunn is launching a new universe at DC aimed at directly competing with Marvel, which has been losing momentum for several years after several successive commercial and critical failures.
In the casting of this new feature film adapted from the hero of the DC comics, spectators will therefore find the young actor of the series Hollywood David Coreswet and the headliner of The Fabulous Mrs. Maisel Rachel Brosnahan, but also Nathan Fillion in the skin of Green Lantern, Nicholas Hoult in that of Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced in the costume of Hawkgirl or even Edi Gathegi in that of Mister Terrific. Superman will be released in cinemas in France on July 9, 2025.
