Harry Potter meets Bake Off in magical spin-off series

If you’d asked us to think of a crossover we’d never expected to see, Harry Potter meets Bake Off would be pretty high up on the list.

That’ll soon change though as Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is now available to watch – just in time for Christmas.

Harry Potter fans are in for a magical treat as not only are the challenges be Potter-themed but the show was filmed on the movies’ sets, and has actors from the franchise involved.

James and Oliver Phelps, who we all remember as Fred and George Weasley, will host the show and share behind-the-scenes anecdotes as they assist culinary judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef.

Across the six episodes, they’ll be joined by special guests Warwick Davis, who played Professor Flitwick, Irish actress Evanna Lynch, who was Luna Lovegood, and Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley.

The guest stars will help evaluate the bakes and share stories from their time in the magical world of Harry Potter and we’re sure it’ll be a great trip down memory lane for us Potterheads as well.

The competition kicks off with a super-sized episode in which nine teams of pastry chefs and cake artists are tasked to craft massive showpieces inspired by moments and themes from the Harry Potter saga.

It must have been slightly surreal for the competitors to be Wingardium Leviosa-ing up their bakes and impressive creations while standing in the Forbidden Forrest or next to the Hogwarts Express.

The series was produced at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, including amid the backdrop of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, on some of the original sets.

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is the latest addition to the Wizarding World and the first six episodes will launch on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland on December 17.

We’ll then have to wait a few days for the finale, which will premiere on December 20. We already know we’ll be spellbound!
