Trained at Jonelière, Elie Youan never had the opportunity to establish himself with FC Nantes, having only played eight games with the club from the banks of the Erdre (1 goal and 1 assist).
Head to Scotland
In 2020, the French international hopeful was loaned to Switzerland, to FC Saint-Gall, where he would be transferred a year later. After a good season with Saint-Gall (D1 Switzerland), he was loaned to KV Malines in Belgium before joining Hibernian FC in Scotland, where he signed permanently at the end of last season.
After a first season 2022/23 with eight goals and nine assists in 38 matches, the former FCN striker confirmed last season, particularly in the Conference League. For his 2023/24 season, Elie Youan scored eight goals and provided eleven assists in around forty matches.
After requests from Ligue 1, Serie A or even Spain, during the transfer window, the now 25-year-old striker finally stayed for one more season with the Hibernian club in Scotland.
Unfortunately, it took him a while to return from his injury at the end of April, and his return to the field was very sluggish. He finally freed himself from this weight this weekend against Ross County (3-1), allowing Hibernian to return to the path to success and to revive with a view to maintaining the Scottish Premiership.
A few minutes after a first penalty missed by his teammate Nicky Cadden, the Frenchman took responsibility for a new penalty obtained to score his first goal of the season and allow his team to regain the advantage.
For the break goal (3-1), he delivered his first assist of the season to Josh Campbell. Let’s hope that this first full match from Elie Youan finally launches his season!
